Batch

A "batch" or "lot" refers to a specific quantity of a product or material that has been produced under essentially the same conditions. In the context of bulk material sampling, a batch could refer to a specific quantity of material produced in a particular production unit or during a specific production run.

The batch number or lot number is a unique identifier assigned to each batch. This number is often printed on the product or its packaging, allowing for traceability. In case of any issues or recalls related to a specific batch, the batch number enables quick and accurate identification of the affected products.

During the sampling of bulk materials, it is essential to document the batch from which the sample originates. This allows for proper association of the sample results with the corresponding production batch and facilitates traceability when needed. It is also important to ensure that the sampling is representative of the entire batch, as the characteristics of bulk materials can vary from batch to batch.
